INSPIRATION:

Cultivating a mimetic and more symbiotic relationship with nature as a human species.
The dancing arms & hands in the tall summer grasses reminded me of birds in flight, the movement of wind, the ripple / tides of water, the dune patterns of deserts, and the movement of weather / clouds. The oasis of blue ( water ) emanating from the core / heart - which is also meant to appear illuminated speaking to the "water is life" concept. All life is in constant movement, changing, and evolving as one.
Astrological & indigenous earth symbolism tattooed on the tops of the hands represent our connection to the cosmos, 4 directions, 4 seasons, and 4 elements ( which are also represented by the colors in this piece). The striped colored bands you find throughout many of the subjects in my artwork are meant to reflect the timelines of life, mimicking tree ring lines or the formation of sedimentary rock layers seen in cliff faces. The warm earth tone pallets in my pieces are intended to reflect the color palates we find in nature which for me create a feeling of grounded'ness... and a sense of HOME.
